  • Lake Texoma is the twelfth largest manmade lake in the United States.
  • Over 6 million visitors come to Lake Texoma annually.
  • Lake Texoma is the "Striper Capital of the World" and is one of a very few reservoirs in the United States where Striped Bass reproduce naturally.
  • Water enthusiasts love Lake Texoma because of the over 89,000 surface acres of water for fishing and outdoor activities.
  • The flood control act of 1938 (Public Law No. 761, 75th Congress, 3rd Session) authorized funding for the Denison dam that created Lake Texoma.
  • Lake Texoma started out as a flood control, hydropower and water supply lake and in 1988 recreation was added as a project purpose.
